In this project, extensive analyses were conducted in 44 stores using RVL technology. These analyses aimed to optimize workforce distribution and improve the overall customer experience. The focus was specifically on the efficiency and workload of checkout queues, aiming to provide faster and more efficient service.

Problem

The stores were experiencing efficiency issues in their checkout operations. During peak hours, the insufficient staff at certain checkout points led to long queues and customer dissatisfaction. Additionally, the lack of strategic placement of checkout areas and underutilization of available space resulted in missed sales opportunities, complicating workforce planning and management.

Solution

By using RVL technology, the analyses identified the specific times and checkout points where more staff were needed. The reports provided insights into when and where to assign additional staff based on traffic patterns during those hours. Heat maps further revealed high-traffic areas, emphasizing the importance of strategically placing checkout counters.

For instance, strategically placing products in the snake area near the checkout lines ensured that waiting customers were exposed to them, creating additional sales opportunities. RVL data also provided insights into which checkouts were being utilized effectively and how snake areas influenced product visibility. These findings helped streamline checkout operations and offered valuable insights for enhancing customer satisfaction and operational strategies.
